How the process works
Organization and communication are key components to ensuring positive results. It is important to understand that design is a process. When a client poses a problem or presents a space to a designer, the designer needs time to come up wih a few alternative solutions. Later, after discussion, when the first step of of project is resolved with the homeowner, the next hurdle in the equation is addressed, and so on.

That is how I work successfully with my clientele. In the pictures below you see an unused large, narrow and long living room. I was hired to draw up plans for expanding the breakfast room off the back of the house so the whole family would have a place to view their new flat screen TV. I suggested holding off expanding anything and rethinking the function of the existing unused living room space. Once that idea took hold, several floor plans were drawn up and a few alternative design boards. When all agreed upon creating an elevated far end of the room, and a timely menswear decor that blended nicely with the kitchen theme, I moved into curtain treatment renderings and pondered rising the back section of the room's floor. As it ended, we chose to use a high alter table towards the back of the area to give us the added dimension of height we were looking for and the floor was not touched.
